CA Osasuna 1-3 Real Madrid | Player Ratings

Real Madrid continues their quest for the La Liga title after disposing of Osasuna in Pamplona on Wednesday. Alaba, Asensio, and Lucas Vasquez were on the scoresheet as the La Liga trophy gets closer to the Spanish capital.

We take a look at how our players fared against Osasuna:

Thibaut Courtois (6.5/10): Osasuna didn’t pose much threat to the Belgian during the game. Made two huge saves. Had little to do with the goal conceded.

Nacho Fernandez (6/10): Impressed from the left flank while breaking down the Osasuna attack. Gave Chimy Avila enough space to put in dangerous crosses.

David Alaba (8/10): Scored the opener for Real Madrid. Couldn’t stick up with the defensive line leading to the goal for Osasuna, minutes after his opener. Attempted a long effort but got denied by Herrera. Suffered a muscular issue and was substituted during half-time.

Eder Militao (5/10): Looked shaky in defence. Made nine recoveries but left Budimir unmarked. Racked up a yellow which will suspend him for the next match.

Lucas Vasquez (7.5/10): Scored the third goal for Los Blancos in the 90+6 minute. Impressed as a right-back and completed the most passes in the match (69).

Dani Ceballos (7/10): Got his first start of the season. Set up the first goal after lobbing an exquisite pass to the penalty area. Nearly scored the second after finding Camavinga’s beautiful lob, Hererra saved it but Asensio managed to score from the rebound. Registered a total of six shots.

Eduardo Camavinga (7.5/10): Racked up an early yellow card but improved massively during the game. His exquisite lofted pass to Ceballos set up the second goal. Made two interceptions and four recoveries. He was the most accurate passer (94%) to play 45 minutes or more. Was crucial in winning the ball and making line-breaking passes.

Fede Valverde (6/10): Was crucial in bringing the ball forward. Provided pace and stability to the midfield. Made six recoveries.

Rodrygo (9/10): Became a menace for the Osasuna defense. His magnificent runs tore apart the defense and Osasuna players were forced to make reckless challenges. Won two penalties.

Marco Asensio (8/10): Scored the second goal and managed to connect dots in the midfield. Contributed little to the attack.

Karim Benzema (6/10): The Frenchman had a day to forget. Missed two penalties but contributed to the first goal.

Substitutes

Dani Carvajal (5/10): Came on after Alaba suffered an injury. Started in an unnatural position of left back.

Toni Kroos (6/10): Provided stability to the tiring midfield after coming on. Connected the dots and made 20 accurate passes.

Isco: Couldn’t make much of an impact.

Vinicius Jr. (7/10): Came on during the last minutes of the game. Despite his playing time, he almost scored a goal and provided the assist for Lucas Vasquez’s goal.
