After a lackluster performance versus Rayo Vallecano over the weekend that resulted in a dull 0-0 draw, Los Blancos showed up versus Portugal's SC Braga in their UCL tie and not only scored 3 great goals but also looked good doing it. With this latest win, Real Madrid has secured their ticked to the knockout stage so on we go to the Round of 16.

Carlo Ancelotti made quite a few changes to the Starting XI that had faced Rayo at the Bernabeu over the weekend. Brahim Diaz stepped in for Jude Bellingham, Lucas Vasquez slotted into right back in place of Dani Carvajal, and Rodrygo was back in the attack in place of Joselu.

Brahim opened up the scoring, Vinicius made it 2-0 with a great strike, and finally, Rodrygo scored a much-needed goal that was not only a beauty but will surely also boost his confidence again in front of goal. Both Vini and Rodrygo, who have not been at their best in La Liga, looked solid in attack and seemed to once again find the swagger that made them a nightmare for opposing defenders.

In this episode, we discuss Real Madrid's performance versus Rayo, their subsequent improvement versus Braga, and we also discuss Brahim Diaz, Ancelotti's coaching choices, and why I have grown somewhat tired of Vini Jr.'s occasional but justified whining in La Liga. VAMOS!

A great response from #RealMadrid after the 0-0 draw versus Rayo last weekend. Rodrygo and Vinicius once again found the back of the back of the net and looked good doing it. Camavinga was phenomenal, Valverde never quits, and Brahim definitely deserves more minutes.

At this point in the 2023-24 season, if you overhear football fans talking about an amazing Real Madrid player doing amazing things, scoring last-minute goals, and hoisting the team on his back to pull them over the finish line...you would probably know that the player they are speaking about is #JudeBellingham. At 20 years old, he is, without a doubt a #RealMadrid legend in the making.

Pundits and journalists worldwide, whether they are sitting behind a laptop in Kolkata, a newsdesk in London, or a TV studio in Connecticut, have already pretty much agreed that the words and the adjectives used to describe what Jude Bellingham has done so far in his first season at Real Madrid are starting to run out.

He hasn't just defied expectations, he has grabbed them, slapped them around a bit, and confidently stared them down while saying, "Is that all you got?".

He was already making jaws drop and shutting up rival fans before this weekend's #ElClásico. But one right-footed rocket from outside #Barcelona's box to score the equalizing goal will now make him part of highlight reels for years to come and an indelible part of Real Madrid's history.

And the best part about his performance against Barcelona this past Saturday was that it wasn't even his best game. But like other world-class players that have come before him at this historic club, one moment and a sliver of space is all they need to turn a game on its head.

As a big Sergio Ramos fan, it hurts me to see him playing against #RealMadrid but that is football. With that said, a feisty game at #Sevilla ended 1-1 as Los Blancos rescued a point away from home in front of what is always a hostile crowd.

The team was not at their best as Rodrygo continued his goal drought, Vini Jr. couldn't find his rhythm, and Jude Bellingham's usual magic couldn't get us the winner.

However, it's time to brush off this draw because El Clásico is next week. Let's go. #HalaMadrid

Apart from Nacho's brainless tackle in the final seconds of the game, Real Madrid looked good & got 3 big points against a team that has been difficult away from home during the last few outings. Ancelotti's men are now top of the table. Joselu scored, Tchuoameni scored, and Jude Bellingham scored.

I like this Starting XI because it tells me Ancelotti learned from his mistakes. Bellingham gets a rest although we might see him later in the game but I like Joselu being back. He is our only true 9 so we might as well use him and I honestly think the guy is decent.

Brahim has looked solid to me every time he has stepped on the pitch so I'm interested to see how he performs. And Tchouameni is back even though we know he should have started versus Atletico.

We will most likely see Vini Jr. get some minutes at some point in the 2nd half which will be good to see and I'm sure the Bernabeu will love seeing him on the pitch.

Ancelotti also makes a statement by benching both Lucas Vazquez and Fran Garcia who were awful versus Atletico. And while Alaba and Rudiger weren't entirely at their best either versus Los Colchoneros, they are our two most reliable CB's available right now, so they will have to show that the game against Atletico was a blip.

With #UDLasPalmas struggling, is a good game for
#RealMadrid to get back to winning ways and pick themselves up after the loss to their crosstown rivals over the weekend.

A dreadful performance from #RealMadrid sees Los Blancos get their first loss of the season.

A dismal defensive performance allowed #AtleticoMadrid to go up 2-0 early in the first half. A Toni Kroos banger before halftime allowed Madridistas to hope we could get back in the game but Atlético struck again at the start of the 2nd half to put Real Madrid on the back foot once again. In the end they could not recover and loss this latest edition of the Madrid derby.

Who’s to blame for the loss? Carlo Ancelotti shouldered the blame in his post-match press conference but the truth is that aside from Carlo Ancelotti’s lineup being less than ideal, Real Madrid’s issues have long been easy to point out.

The absence of a world class striker to substitute Benzema has not and could not be filled because the board is obsessed with one man who has kept dragging his feet and playing mind games with Real Madrid’s fans and management.

Jude Bellingham with all of his talent and maturity will not be able to bail us out every single game.

Players such as Rodrygo and Vini Jr will have to step up. But so far this season Vini has had a rough time adjusting to Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 diamond formation and Rodrygo has gone missing…but could it be that they are the problem or that this system Ancelotti wants to play is not working?

Is it a combination of both?

It’s still early in the season so we will have to see how Real Madrid recovers from this loss and what, if anything, Ancelotti will learn from this. It’s still too early to scream bloody murder but this is Real Madrid and even one loss will send some crazed Real Madrid fans into a frenzy.

But for right now, all we can do is stomach the loss and hope that Real Madrid recovers from this loss and gets back to their winning ways.
