3 Players Real Madrid will look out for in the summer

After missing out on Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid will certainly look to strengthen the squad in the upcoming summer transfer window with an enormous amount of resources. Real Madrid had a few quiet transfer windows as they were probably saving up for the big occasion of signing Mbappe for the past three years. It will be difficult to see a club like Real Madrid refrain from buying a bonafide star for the fourth season in a row.

Here below I made a list of three players who can join Real Madrid and be a part of a long-term project in the Spanish capital:

Riyad Mahrez

The first player who tops my list is Manchester City’s right-winger Riyad Mahrez. Real Madrid would have bought Mbappe to strengthen the right-wing and to provide some competition to Rodrygo for his own development. Staying fixed to the concerned position, it can be thought that in the current market, no player other than the Algerian suits the job perfectly.

Since he joined Manchester City from Leicester City after cruising them to their magical Premier League title, Mahrez has had consecutive consistent performances. He is City’s first choice right-winger and has a goal contribution of 26 goals this season across all competitions.

While it will be difficult to negotiate with Man City but after their recent acquisition of Erling Haaland, Pep Guardiola will think twice about his attacking options next season and they may need to offload one of their attackers.

Bernardo Silva

Another player who had some consistently impressive seasons is Man City’s attacking midfielder. Being a starter in a Pep Guardiola is a tough ask but Silva’s performances have appealed to the Catalan boss enough that he has become a starter for Man City this season.

The Portuguese had 15 goal contributions this season across all competitions for the sky blues. His dribbling ability and his capacity to take the game to the opposition are certainly for one to watch.

Although he is predominantly a central midfielder during his time as AS Monaco, he used to play as a right-winger. Although the midfield looks sorted for Real Madrid a little bit of pace and firepower from the midfield will be a deadly addition to his current squad.

Aurelien Tchouameni

This player appealed to me so much this season that I wrote an article dedicating it to him. He’s having a wonderful season with the Monegasques and according to several reputed journalists like Fabrizio Romano and others Tchouameni has emerged as a top target for several European clubs.

While Liverpool is termed as ‘front-runners’ in the race to buy him, Real Madrid is not lagging behind. Real Madrid representatives have already met with the player’s agents once to test the waters and the money saved from ‘not buying’ Mbappe provides the potential for the Frenchman’s signature.
