Real Madrid fell to Villarreal 1-2 at Estadio de la Cerámica this past Saturday. The team from the Valencian community has proven to be a thorn in Real Madrid’s side in recent years, yet they have not been able to beat Los Blancos since 2018. However, a lackluster performance from Real Madrid and a strong performance by Villarreal lead “The Yellow Submarine” to their first victory over Real Madrid in 5 years.

Real Madrid has little time to right the ship as they are off to Saudi Arabia this week to face Valencia for the Supercopa de España. They will then need to return to Estadio de la Cerámica again in order to play Villareal again in the Round of 16 of La Copa Del Rey. If Real Madrid can’t turn around what has been unconvincing performances as of late, it will be tough times ahead for Madridistas. Los Blancos have a string of difficult fixtures coming up versus the likes of Valencia, Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Sociedad coming up and all of these times will be chomping at the bit to get 3 points from what seems to be an underperforming Real Madrid.

In this episode, we discuss the game versus Villarreal, the lack of depth in the squads, the dip in from some of the players, and how Madridistas should strap for what will be a difficult few weeks. But with that said, this team is no stranger to coming from behind and proving everyone, even it’s loyal fans, wrong. It’s a team that loves to make us suffer. We’ll still always keep the faith regardless and say, ¡Hala Madrid!
