Valencia Vs Real Madrid: Player ratings

Thibaut Courtois (8/10): Courtois’s goal was peppered with shots from the Valencian attack last night but he was successful in keeping everything out except for Hugo Duro’s shot in the 66th minute giving Valencia the lead. Made 3 key saves which kept the score reasonable for Real Madrid. Deserved the clean sheet for his exceptional performance last night.

Dani Carvajal (4/10): Played only 26 minutes of the match, gained some momentum after he came back from injury last week only to suffer another setback in last night’s game. Had a 78% pass success rate and made a clearance.

Eder Militao (6/10): Kept out both Maxi Gomez and Guedes and made them somewhat incapable to do something lethal to Los Blancos’ defense. Could have done more to stop Duro’s shot.

David Alaba (8/10): Looks like we have got our new Ramos in the pack! Alaba rallied orders in the defense. He is the leader of the Real Madrid defense and made a team-high of 7 clearances.

Nacho (6/10): Struggled to contain Yunus Musah but had a good overall performance. Won 2 duels and made a clearance.

Luka Modric (7.5/10): Influential on the pitch and helped Real Madrid evade counterattacks from Valencia. Subbed off in 70th minute due to fatigue.

Casemiro (5/10): An unusual day in the office for Casemiro. Couldn’t keep up with the pressure from Valencia and won only 2 duels out of an attempted 7.

Federico Valverde (5.5/10): He put in a lot of effort and pressured Valencia last night but didn’t get much luck in attack. Could‘ve done more to keep out Duro’s goal.

Vinicius Jr. (9/10): Another impressive performance from the Brazilian wonder kid. Equalized the game in the 86th minute. Linked up well with Karim Benzema and got an assist from Benzema’s winning goal. Apart from the goal and assist, he had a good match where Valencia found it hard to contain him.

Eden Hazard(7.5/10): Ancelotti decided to give him a new role as a #10 where he did fairly well. Linked up well with his offensive counterparts. Made 6 key passes and completed 3 dribbles.

Karim Benzema (9/10): Another influential game for Real Madrid’s talisman. Scored the winning goal for Los Blancos and recorded an assist for Vinicius’s equalizer. BIG BENZ can’t stop scoring!

SUBSTITUTES

Lucas Vasquez (6/10): Entered the game in the 27th minute subbing off Carvajal. Sloppy in the right flank but adjusted himself into the game. Was out of position which lead to Duro’s goal.

Eduardo Camavinga (8/10): Changed the tempo and pace of the game for Real Madrid after coming on. Made 2 key recoveries and pressured well to regain ball possession.

Rodrygo Goes(6.5/10): Lato found it hard to control Rodrygo when he barged on through balls. Connected well up with Vini and Benzema.

Luka Jovic (6.5/10): Became a menace to the Valencian defense after coming on. Valencia were unable to deal with not one but two aerial threats (Benzema+Jovic). Played only 12 minutes but made a good impact on the game.

Isco (6/10):  Evaded Valencia’s press well and helped Madrid keep the ball moving quickly.
